Nicole Mariani
Nicole Mariani began her musical journey as a child by playing piano and guitar, and then picking up clarinet in middle school. When she formed a volunteer jazz band with some friends from school, it became obvious that they needed a bass player. Nicole volunteered to learn the instrument, and the rest is history!
Nicole played string bass, electric bass, and reeds throughout high school and college, eventually ending up in the University of Notre Dame’s Marching, Jazz, and Concert Bands. She also played for a number of musical theater events around campus.
Since school, Nicole has been in a number of amateur and semi-pro bands, both in her original home state of Connecticut and more recently in her new home state of Arizona. She currently plays saxophone with the Oro Valley Jazz Band, bass with the Marana Big Phat Band, clarinet with the Desert Chameleon Community Band, and auxiliary percussion with Tucson Little Big Band. Nicole is always looking for new opportunities to play music!
